Hans Peter Haselsteiner – Overall artistic direction: Gustav Kuhn Back on the stage of the Passion playhouse, which becomes a festival ground when Richard Wagner’s "Meistersinger" are deployed in a new production. Richard Wagner can also be experienced "remixed" - in a multimedia show by Wolfgang Mitterer about the life and work of the Bayreuth Master. As a mythological programme of contrast, there is the reopening of the successful production from 2005: Richard Strauss` "Elektra". The Erler Vision of Beethoven’s freedom opera "Fidelio" in Tirol’s commemorative year 2009 pays homage to Andreas Hofer. In the concert the festival musicians break open the high and late romantic period, from the opening weekend with Bruckner’s Sixth and Beethoven’s "Ode to Pleasure" to Schubert, Schumann, Chopin and Tschaikowsky. A piano highlight leads into the classic modern with Bartók.
